Rest in Peace Chester Bennington
03/20/1976 – 07/20/2017
This is my painting of Chester Bennington from Linkin Park. Linkin Park was my favorite band of all time. They’ll always represent a large part of my childhood. Chester’s voice was truly one of a kind. Happy Birthday Chester Bennington. I’ll be celebrating you for the rest of my life. Thanks so much for the great memories
When Linkin Park first debuted and throughout their entire existence, they’ve always had a strange section of people that hate on them. First for being a mix of genres (how dare they), then for changing/evolving their styles (how dare they), at other times just for being a successful band (again, how dare they??). The two things I’ve always loved about Linkin Park and Chester was 1.) that they were always true to themselves despite any criticism and did whatever the hell they wanted to and 2.) the respect and kindness they showed their fans. A great example -Their fan chants of “pick them up!” whenever someone fell at a Linkin Park concert. The super dedicated LP fans always reciprocated in kind and it’s always great when a fanbase makes you like the thing you’re following EVEN MORE. It’s like meeting the person of your dreams and finding that their family is wonderful people too. Rare and amazing to find.
“Their fan chants of “pick them up!” whenever someone fell at a Linkin Park concert.”
I have so many favorite videos about Chester and Linkin Park so I’ll try to keep it at a hundred of them lol enjoy:
